West End Shelter for Animals

Our Mission

To provide a non-kill alternative to pet owners (pet housing and adoption); offer low cost vaccination services to help reduce suffering, disease and death; and promote the spaying or neutering of pets to reduce the number of unwanted surplus animals. 

Our Goal

Provide a temporary home where owners can turn over their pet for adoption knowing that it will be well cared for until a new home is found, not killed in a few days.
Be an excellent resource for the community to locate and adopt a sociable pet companion, as well as a center for public pet education and low-cost services and referrals to the community.

The West End Story

In June of 1954, a group of local residents formed the Humane Society of Chaffey Community as a more humane solution for the growing stray population. In those early days, we sold licenses to the public and provided animal control services.
In the late 80's early 90's a new chapter began for the shelter... We adopted a no-kill policy, terminated all our animal control contracts and became West End Shelter for Animals, the shelter you know and love today!

Hours of Operation

ADOPTION HOURS: 
Mon-Tue: 10:00am until 5:00pm
Thu-Sat: 10:00am until 5:00pm
Sun: 10:00am until 2:00pm


VACCINATION HOURS: 
If you need the rabies vaccination, see our clinic page for clinic dates.
For all other vaccinations, 
Mon-Tue: 10:00 am until 5:00pm
Thu-Sat: 10:00am until 5:00pm
Sun: 10:00am until 2:00pm

We are closed on Wednesdays and major holidays.
