About Us

West End Shelter for Animals

We are a no-kill pet placement and adoption center located in Ontario, California. We are also a registered non-profit organization; our tax ID is: 95-1812163.

Our Mission Statement

Picture
To provide a non-kill alternative to pet owners (pet housing and adoption); offer low cost vaccination services to help reduce suffering, disease and death; and promote the spaying or neutering of pets to reduce the number of unwanted surplus animals.

Our Goal

Provide a temporary home where owners can turn over their pet for adoption knowing that it will be well cared for until a new home is found, not killed in a few days.
Be an excellent resource for the community to locate and adopt a sociable pet companion, as well as a center for public pet education and low-cost services and referrals to the community.

The West End Story

Founded in 1954 as the Humane Society of the Chaffey Community, it was originally an animal control facility and even sold licenses to the public. Since then, we've changed our name to West End Shelter for Animals and adopted a no-kill policy.

Our Pawesome Team!

We have eight paid employees, five board members, and a number of regular and part-time volunteers.
