Volunteer Program Basics
– All volunteers must be age 18 or older.
– Must be able to commit to 8 hours a month.
– Once you’ve attended orientation, you will receive a namebadge. Free replacements are available in the office.
– We offer a separate program for court-ordered community service. Learn more.
Volunteer Positions

Dog Volunteer
Dog Volunteers are divided per the animals meaning there are groups for Small, Medium and Large breed dogs. Dog Volunteers are responsible for walking, playing, socializing and providing adequate enrichment to their lives. Additional responsibilities include: cleaning up after the dogs, changing bedding, etc.
Cat Volunteer
Cat Volunteers are responsible for the daily enrichment of our shelter cats this includes, but not limited to: brushing the cats, playing, socializing and being “there” for the cats. Additional responsibilities include: cleaning, checking/changing food and water, organizing, etc.
General Volunteer
General Volunteers are all around helpers of the shelter. They help with both dogs and cats as well as shelter events.
How do I know what to pick?
Our volunteer program does not assign positions meaning you may apply to work with cats, but, you can end up working with dogs. Our goal is a welcoming and enriching experience for both you and our pets, so, we recommend that all shelter volunteers work in different areas each time to find their spot where they work best.

Using the “Apply Today” button below, fill out an application to indicate your interest in helping the shelter!

Attend
Once approved, RSVP to the orientation link. You are required to attend the orientation to go over the shelter’s basics.

Difference
We do not schedule volunteers.
You’re welcome to volunteer anytime the shelter is open. No previous arrangements needed.
