Adoption Process

We aim to make the adoption process as straightforward as possible. For the best experience, we encourage you to visit our facility and meet our pets in person. To adopt, you'll need to complete an adoption application, which you can find under "Adopting a Dog" or Adopting a Cat". Following approval, you're welcome to take home the pet of your choice

Adoption Pricing

Dogs: 

• All dogs and puppies are $200.
• They are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. 

Cats: ​

• All cats and kittens are $100. 
• They are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and tested for Fiv/FeLV.

FAQs

What does "getting approved" mean? 
Getting approved means that our Board of Directors has determined that your home is the best fit for the pet you selected. They do this by looking at the pet(s) behavior, breed, age, and temperament and comparing it to the home you describe in the application. 

What if it does not work out? 
Within 15 days of adoption, we offer a singular exchange of another shelter pet. If you need longer than 15 days, please send an email to our Front Office detailing the situation. Please be aware that the shelter does not offer refunds. 

How does the shelter receive adoptable pets? 
A large majority of our pets come from owner surrenders, meaning that previous families have given their animals into our care. Occasionally, when we have space, we will pull pets from local kill shelters.

Can I give the shelter a pet to be adopted?

Does the shelter offer any discounts?
​We only offer discounts to senior citizens adopting senior animals. Contact our front office for more information.

How do I keep track of all the medical records?
Following adoption, you'll receive an email to set up a free account with Wagtopia. Upon the creation of your account, you can view all important medical records and set reminders for upcoming dates!
